Product Information

High voltage insulators (HVIs) are used in transmission lines and substations. They are usually made out of either polymer or ceramic. Polymer is lighter than ceramic but also tends to degrade faster. There are different types of insulators used in transmission lines as overhead insulation, including Pin, Suspension, Strain, Stay, and Shackle Insulators. Dielectric gases are used as electrical insulators in high voltage applications, e.g. transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, radar waveguides, etc..
There are many options when it comes to electrical insulation, and finding the best insulator can be difficult. You should understand the different options available and what their properties are to find the most suitable substances.
